Of note Sen Biden's mother died. The one thing that was nice about the news reports is that they actually mentioned hospice. Just some more help to get the idea of hospice more mainstream. Often times the news will mention that someone famous 'died at home' but no mention of any supportive services. But that could be a double edged sword. It could just reinforce the meme that hospice = death.

An FYI to Drew and Christian:

Joe Biden's has cancelled his schedule for the weekend because Jill Biden's mother (Joe's mother in law) is battling a serious illness and is now in hospice in Pennsylvania.

This might be a good opportunity to visit a high traffic political blog, such a Daily Kos, and do a post on what hospice and palliative care is, and perhaps what it is not.

It's a good opportunity to educate the public so that when the time comes for them or their loved one, they understand their options.

Daily Kos get traffic around five million unique page views per month, and I think this presents a unique opportunity for you to speak directly to a politically active audience who be naturally inclined to support your positions on issue about which you blog.
