George Mark Children's House Facing Financial Crisis
The George Mark Children's House is the first dedicated pediatric inpatient hospice facility in the United States and is feeling the echoes of the financial crisis. They were recently featured on the local news and are asking for donations and broader support for their programs. I remember going to see Christy Torkildson, R.N., P.H.N., M.S.N. present about GMCH in New Orleans at the 2006 AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly and was very inspired what they had accomplished. They have taken on an important task and have done well for over a decade until now.
Pallimed has no affiliations with GMCH, but would encourage you to visit the George Mark Children's House website and learn more about the struggle the organization is facing.
