GeriPal nominated for Best Clinical Medical Blog - Go Vote!
A hearty huzzah to the Eric Widera and Alex Smith and the great team of contributors at our friendly neighborhood blog GeriPal for being nominated to the final 5 of Medgadget's 2010 Medical Weblog Awards. The competition is daunting but as of this posting GeriPal is out to a slim lead over the nearest competitor the Renal Fellows Network (Hey that gives me an idea for a blog...nevermind.) But they need your help. There are a heck of lot more nephrologists and emergency medicine docs (the other blogs) to vote. But they lack our wonderful online network of supporters in palliative medicine.
Make this the year of palliative medicine blogs. Pallimed was nominated in 2008 and 2009 but didn't make the final 5, Medical Futility has been nominated to the final 5 before as well. But we don't have a winner yet in palliative medicine. Make it so for GeriPal!
You can only vote once from a single IP address (i.e. your four computers in your house would only be able to vote once). Voting is open for only a few more days until February 13th.
Go to Medgadget and vote today! Don't delay! No email address or other information required, just a click.
Oh and by the way, I also think GeriPal is an outstanding blog that should also be read and commented on as well. If you subscribe to Pallimed, you need to subscribe to GeriPal. They are having a heck of a year with Eric Widera also just winning a Hastings Center Cuniff-Dixon Award.
(And for extra credit go to the Facebook page of GeriPal, and like them and tell them you voted for them! It will get more people to vote, kind of like wearing an "I Voted" sticker on election day!)
